Monica Jerome Maina has worked for the firm for almost 20 years, and now concentrates on our most complex cases, primarily in the areas of pharmaceutical product liability, mass tort litigation, and catastrophic medical malpractice. Monica has successfully represented many patients injured by drugs and medical devices, including Vioxx, Medtronic Defibrillator claims, Baycol, Redux, fen-phen, and the Dalkon Shield IUD.
Handling Investigation and Litigation of Vioxx Claims
Her current clients include patients who suffered heart damage due to the use of Vioxx, Medtronic Heart Defibrillation cases, rhabdomyolysis caused by the medication Baycol; homeowners in Pascoag, RI whose water and properties have been damaged by MTBE; and several families particularly devastated by medical malpractice.
She is a member of many attorneys’ networks, including several litigation groups within the American Trial Lawyers Association. Monica works closely with mass tort lawyers and physicians around the country investigating mass torts and emerging drug litigation. Monica received her B.A. from UMass/Dartmouth in 1986 and her law degree from Suffolk University Law School in 1992 She previously defended cases from 1986-1989 as an insurance adjuster for two leading local insurance companies.
